Every workout starts with the right environment, and that’s exactly what we created at Urdd Gobaith Cymru Activity Centre in Llangrannog. After supporting Urdd Gobaith Cymru earlier this year at the 7s tournament, we were thrilled to be asked to transform this space.
The goal was to create a versatile, high-performance gym that would work for both staff and visitors, while supporting the school groups who visit the centre each year.
From the ground up
To support daily use and varying levels of footfall, solid rubber tiles were chosen throughout the space for long-term durability and performance. A custom turf sled track was added to bring greater versatility to the gym, featuring Urdd’s striking branding to add a pop of colour and identity. Custom branded oak lifting platforms completed the strength training setup, helping to protect the equipment and provide a durable, dedicated surface for lifting.
A versatile training setup
For a gym designed to withstand a wide range of users, key equipment highlights include KingsBox SX-20 squat racks, alongside Olympic barbells and weight plates, and APEX adjustable super weight benches. Dyaco equipment was also supplied, including a functional trainer and cardio equipment from the Half Human range, including a rower, SkiErg and HIIT Air Bike.
The gym was also kitted out with a variety of training equipment, including training balls, dumbbells and mats, all stored safely away in an APEX modular storage rack.

The finished gym has been designed to support a wide range of training, with versatile equipment, durable flooring and enough space to accommodate different workouts and users.
