Tackling a small scale conversion
When a former rugby union international player got in touch with us to request a gym conversion in his renovated farmhouse, we, of course, jumped at the chance.
We would certainly have our work cut out try–ing to optimise this purpose-built space. Measuring just 10m x 5m, it also had an unusually low ceiling, which meant there was no room for error. However, taking advantage of the limited space available, we have, once again, proved that a highly effective, fully functional fitness facility needn’t be synonymous with vast square footage.
This project demanded that we really pushed the boundaries when it came to practical and versatile space-saving solutions. Determined to maximise athletic performance, whilst boosting the efficiency of the area available, the magnitude of the challenge was definitely not mirrored by the size of the space!
Pitch-ing the perfect kit
To ensure this small space gym was a winner, we worked alongside KingsBox to establish the most space-efficient storage and cable pulley solution.
We pitched and ultimately incorporated various innovative storage solutions, ensuring a tidy and productive workout area. This included integrated weight plate horns and dumbbell shelving for optimal safety, output and adaptability.
The ergonomic cable pulley machine was seamlessly connected to the rig, taking up minimal room, whilst remaining highly effective.
A game-changing gym fit for a rugby player
An absolute game-changer for our client, this extraordinary strength and conditioning zone marries the perfect combination of cardio machines and weight training equipment, for honing skills and performance.
We began the renovation by fitting exceptionally durable, impact resistant and shock absorbing 30mm heavy duty rubber flooring. Providing substantial protection for the subfloor, which was crucial for this farmhouse conversion, this hard-wearing rubber gym tile also minimises noise and won’t become damaged over time.
