NUFC Academy

We’ve once again teamed up with Newcastle United FC to boost their training facilities and equip both pro players and rising stars in the NUFC Academy with world-class gear to enhance their speed, power and agility.

The first phase of the project was to meet the growing needs of the 1st team by extending their strength and conditioning area. Wanting to protect the subfloor and ensure the new space was capable of handling intense workouts, we first fitted 40mm heavyweight flooring. This tough flooring offers a non-slip surface for safety, absorbs impacts and will improve the acoustics in the expanded gym.

With a strong foundation laid, we then kitted out the gym with industry-leading equipment that will help shape a Premier League team. We chose items like the Legend Half Rack, known for its durability and functionality. This rack boasts a robust construction with minimal bolts to reduce maintenance needs and includes attachments for intense training. With chrome plate overlays and laser-cut numbering for easy use in any weightlifting exercise, this elite piece of kit will enhance the players’ training and rehabilitation processes. We also added the Legend Leg Extension/Leg Curl Machine and Seated Calf Machine to target specific muscle groups, along with Watt Bikes, which are excellent for interval training, rehab and performance testing.

With these upgrades, the squad can now enjoy the extra space and train in an environment packed with high-quality, durable equipment that supports physical conditioning and peak performance.

Building on the 1st Team’s success, the second phase of the project saw us overhauling the NUFC Academy’s 400 sqm Strength and Conditioning facility. To ensure consistency across the club, we matched the Academy’s equipment with the 1st Team’s, so young players aged 9-16 can train to the same high standards.

The space now boasts versatile training equipment to boost the physical development of Academy players. We installed an 18m x 3m Turf Track, perfect for sprint training and agility drills, that will improve the young players’ stamina and speed. We also added the CE800+ Elliptical for total-body workouts, Apex Hip Thrusters to build hip strength and stability, and the Keiser Functional Trainer for customisable workouts at any load, speed and plane.

As saving space was a priority, we included the Legend Pro Half Rack, which is compact but offers numerous features and accessories. With only 12 frame bolts that significantly reduce any points of weakness, this Pro Series rack includes advanced polymer contact surface Monster hooks, protecting the bar’s knurling and reducing rust and paint chips. The multi-grip chin bar at the top allows for various pull-ups, and the rack includes Olympic bar storage, resistance pegs for band exercises, and comes with adjustable bar catches for safety.

With our extensive experience in creating world-class gyms for athletes, the enhancements at NUFC ensure both the 1st team and Academy players have the best training environment available. These upgrades set the highest standards for the next generation of footballers, helping them perform both on and off the pitch.
