Making a Splash at Dive London

When British Diving approached us to design and install a new gym at the London Aquatics Centre for Dive London we were delighted to help. The goal was to create a world-class training facility that would support Team GB athletes in their preparation for national, European, international and Olympic competitions. We drew upon our experience of working with Team GB at the Rio, Tokyo and Paris games to complete the facility.

Elite Standard Equipment

We designed the gym from the ground up. We took into consideration the unique needs of Dive London athletes and the requirements of British Swimming. We worked with the performance coaches and wider team to specify the layout and equipment needed. Supplying them with 3D visuals along the way helped visualise the facility before anything was manufactured or installed.

The gym installation included heavyweight 40mm flooring with colour-coded impact zones, new custom-branded Werksan Power Racks and weight plates, as well as custom-branded soft plyo box sets. Benches, a glute ham developer, cable pull machines and steel plyo box sets completed the large equipment list. The facility was also equipped with hex dumbbells, PU dumbbells and kettlebell sets with appropriate storage included, as well as a series of Werksan fractional plates, APEX bars, DC Blocks® and foam rollers with their wall storage dispenser.

An Impressive End Result

The gym has already provided Team GB athletes with a state-of-the-art facility to train and prepare for competitions and is helping them to improve their performance on the international stage, with several athletes in the hunt for a place on the plane to Paris 2024. The new gym installation has had a significant impact on the training of Team GB athletes. The facility provides a range of equipment that caters to the varied training needs of elite athletes. The heavyweight flooring and custom-branded equipment not only looks great but also creates an environment that inspires athletes.
