SW Fitness and Coaching’s Simon Williams has been named as a brand ambassador for Absolute Performance, a leading provider of gym design and installation and fitness equipment. In his new role, Simon will assist Absolute Performance in selecting and developing products for Hyrox training and will draw upon his experiences to inspire athletes and provide valuable tips for those looking to improve their Hyrox performance or begin training for Hyrox events, one of the most exciting fitness movements of recent years.
Simon is a former Arsenal schoolboy who was on the verge of Team GB qualification as a 400m runner before he became ill and required emergency spinal surgery. Despite being told that he wouldn’t walk again, he underwent a gruelling and inspiring journey of rehabilitation that saw him fight back to become a Hyrox athlete and fitness coach.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Absolute Performance as a brand ambassador to help people achieve their fitness goals and become part of the Hyrox movement,” said Williams. “Hyrox is a fantastic sport that challenges both physical and mental strength, and I’m excited to share my knowledge and experience with others who are passionate about it.”
Simon and his son Harvey have qualified for the upcoming Hyrox World Championships in their respective age groups, their expertise in the sport is widely recognised. As an ambassador for Absolute Performance, Simon will be able to help more people access the tools and knowledge they need to excel in Hyrox and other forms of fitness training.
Gary Oleinik, Absolute Performance’s Sales and Marketing Director, added: “I’m delighted to be able to work with Simon, his story is truly inspirational and his Hyrox performances are up there with the best. We’re really looking forward to seeing his Hyrox journey progress and support him along the way”.
